We are located in one of the finest walking areas in France with thousands of kilometres of documented walks catering for all level of walkers young and old alike. We have several walking books and maps available plus walking cards in a handy format which contain a map, points to look at, historical information along with an indication of level of difficulty and duration. We also have a English speaking guide whom we can contact on your behalf should you require one.
Not that any of our guests need any help in this department I am sure by while the 'old man' is away rafting or whatever you ladies can enjoy one of our local health and beauty spa's at very reasonable rates.
Bike hire is available in Quillan (4km away) and we do have two mountain bikes available for loan at no cost.
Whilst it is not possible to swim in our river there are many lakes within an easy drive of our house (15 to 20 minutes) that offer water sports (sailing and windsurfing) or just plain sunbathing and swimming many of which have man made beach's. Some have designated picnic areas where BBQ's are constructed for your use. We can supply you with a picnic hamper and blanket as well as beach towels at no charge. There are outside pools available at Quillan and Axat during the summer or why not go to Alet les Bains where you can swim in the thermal pool anytime of the year including winter.

Events and Festivals
If you like music then during the summer months the nearby town of Quillan (4km away) hosts an international folk festival, a music festival and the annual town Féte.

Markets
Most towns have regular markets at least once each
week. The most vibrant is at Miripoix which is 40 minutes away, Many have
very old origins and are still held in historic market squares. A wide
variety of goods are sold. Most have a wide variety of foodstuffs : local
seafood, herbs, fruit, vegetables and wines mingle with hams and cheeses
from the mountains.
There are also irregular markets selling specific goods (antiques, horses, plants, wine etc.) in main towns. Impromptu rural farmers markets appear according to season and availability of crops. This is particularly during the fruit season. Similarly, many fisherman sell fish direct from their boats on the coast.
